- Authors

- Abstract
The authors discuss implantable cardioverter defibrillator (ICD) implant rate in Asia. They said that the reason for underutilization of ICDs in the region is likely multifactorial. It is mentioned that Black and White Americans in the U.S. had nearly double the sudden cardiac arrest rates compared to American Asians and Indians. The differences in economic status between countries is one of the most important contributing factors for device use.
