- Abstract
The article presents a case study of the Natalie Kalmus Papers in the Margaret Herrick Library, Los Angeles. Particular focus is given to what archival documents reveal about her role as head of the Color Advisory Service for the Technicolor Motion Picture Corporation. Details related to her concept of color consciousness and her work with set and costume departments in the film industry are presented. Her role in marketing and facilitating tie-ins with other products is also discussed.
