The article presents a historical review of diabetic wound care in the U.S. Also cited are the launching by Doctor Elliott P. Joslin of the William Nast Brodbeck Cottage clinic for treating diabetic patients in 1915, Miss Elizabeth Mudge of New England as the first recipient of insulin, as well as the advancements of off-loading techniques and topical wound care products over the years.
