The article provides information on the biomechanics and management of apropulsive gait. Topics discussed include an explanation on how apropulsive gait occurs, soft tissue dysfunctions that result in apropulsive gait, and the use of energy return ankle foot orthosis (ERAFOs) to restore more normal propulsion to gait for patients who are challenged with functional instabilities and distance limitations.
