- Abstract
The article focuses on the vaccines used to protect people against Japanese encephalitis in Great Britain. It states that such a disease is often caused by a flavivirus which is transmitted to humans by mosquitoes. Early symptoms are relatively innocuous flu-like symptoms. The IXIARO Japanese encephalitis vaccine was derived from mouse brain tissue which had been suspected of being responsible for rare adverse events.
