- Title
Gaining a better understanding of superhydrophobic surfaces.
- Abstract
The article discusses a study led by Julie Crockett, associate professor at Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah, and others, aimed at development of a model describing the impingement of a water jet on a superhydrophobic surface that contains an anistrophic slip. Topics discussed include characterization of the interaction of a superhydrophobic surface with water using hydraulic pump and slips, issues of water contamination in lubricant systems, and reduction in wear and friction.
