- Abstract
The sound of the human voice is present in most of the advertisings, publicities, and commercials broadcasted on radio and television. This article presents vocal characterization of recorded professional broadcasting. The analysis shows vocal psycho-dinamics aspects related to the main types of voice and identificated vocal parameters, discussed the implications of these vocal options in the speaker's vocal health, and establishes a relationship with the present necessities of vocal interpretation in broadcasting, pointing to the need of overcoming the stereotyped patterns of broadcasting and the possibility of exploring a vocal flexibility and plasticity that corresponds to the freedom and creativity of vocal representation required in broadcasting. Thus, we suggest a more effective participation of the speech-language therapist in the training and preparation of the broadcaster and social communicators, offering theoretical and practical support for the professional use of the voice.
