- Authors
Auger, Peter
- Abstract
The article discusses the attribution of the 17th-century English literary works "A Discovery of the Rebels," "The Great Antichrist," and "The Opinion of the Roman Judges," to the English minister John Viccars (ca. 1604-1653?), rather than to the poet John Vicars (1580-1652). Details are given outlining the initially mistaken attributions and the evidence for their correction. Further comments are offered regarding the implications of the discovery on 17th-century royalist activity.
