- Authors
QUIGLEY, JOHN M.; RAPHAEL, STEVEN
- Abstract
The article discusses the impact of neighborhood of residence on the success of low-income adults in finding a job. The author questions the spatial mismatch theory which correlates the geographical location and employment rates, citing the findings of the experiments of the Moving To Opportunity (MTO), undertaken by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) in the 1990s. An overview of the experiments of the MTO program is offered.
