- Authors
Lenczowski, George
- Abstract
The article focuses on the problems and prospects concerning the major oil reserve pipelines in the Middle East. It is stated that the region is known as the largest repository of oil fields in the world. However, the transportation of such oil to its ultimate consumers is limited due to various factors. Here, it discusses the proper export routes of the two major crude oil pipelines across the area which include the Iraqi and Saudi Arabian system. According to the author, the factor which affects such problem has been the political instability of the region. He suggests that advance planning for alternatives in case the existing pipelines are disturbed is significant.
