El itinerario de la conversión en los Pensées de Blaise Pascal.
- Authors
MORODO GONZÁLEZ, Patricia
- Abstract
Pascal begins the proposal of his path towards conversion basing it in an anthropologic christian thesis: Man is a being created and exalted to a supernatural order, who, by committing the original sin, suffers a disjunction between the previous and present state which he must acknowledge in order to adapt himself to conversion. Indeed, Pascal alerts us about Man’s quest for truth, joy and welfare, which are all encountered within God. Moreover, the «Pensées» admonish towards purification and towards self-loathing, in order to prepare ourselves to receive conversion's grace. Furthermore, in his path, Pascal illustrates how philosophy isn't the first direction to choose, but Christianity, which reveals Christ who, by harmonizing within himself both human and divine natures, repairs and regenerates in Man the disjunction produced by sin; as well as He redeems original and personal sins' consequences. Besides, Christ is the advocate between God and Men, He is the unique passage to reach the hidden God. God overshadows Himself in faith's chiaroscuro, and either hides or reveals Himself depending on heart's predispositions. Quest is the core of the entire christian endeavor.
