- Abstract
The article focuses on several aspects of acrylic resin feeding appliance for the infants with a cleft lip and palate. It is stated that an impression of maxillary cleft and arch is obtained and materials such as silicone and alginate are used to record an impression of maxillary. A cast is made using a stone and periphery is outlined, after which a light curing acrylic is adapted to fit maxillary cast. The tissue conditioner is placed on the fitting surface of the acrylic resin and feeding appliance has its fitting surface lined with tissue conditioner which fits comfortably in infant's mouth. It is concluded that feeding appliance may be used to support feeding of a cleft palate infant.
