- Abstract
The objective of this paper is to perform a bibliometric analysis of the national scientific production on fair trade in Brazilian theses, dissertations and journals concentrated in the large area of Administration. Such analysis is necessary, because of the growing articulation of national and international fair trade, fomenting, thus, wide possibilities of discussions about the ways of acting, performance and management of the countless organizations of producers and distributors and the comprehension of the consumption factors and consumers' profiles linked to the movement. As a methodological approach, bibliometric analysis was adopted, applied based on different selection criteria for scientific publications using the PRISMA method, and the data were analyzed from descriptive statistics. From the analysis, the studies could be classified into four categories: organization, movement, certification and consumption. The main results indicate the concentration of qualitative studies, discussing characteristics of both the Fair Trade movement and the impact of certification, being mostly carried out from case studies in an exploratory way. Highlight of publications in the Southeast region, where USP and UFLA are located, being pioneer institutions in studies focused on agriculture in Brazil. The article advances in the discussion on the brazilian Fair Trade by building a state of the art for researchers in the field of administration. In addition, the study allows us to broaden the debate about the nature, practices and complexities involved in certified organizations.
