- Abstract
This article, the aulos parts found in the Klaros excavation carried out within the borders of Ahmetbeyli district in Menderes district of İzmir province are examined. Aulos is an instrument that covers the entire history of Greek music in the category of wind instruments in the Ancient period, and is more common in descriptions than other wind instruments. Religious ceremonies for the gods in Greek culture consisted of different items that complement each other. These ceremonies started with pompe or prosodos. This was followed by those who played lyra and aulos, those who said hymnos, the gifts to be presented to God, and those carrying sacrificial animals or various objects related to the ash. In 2019, the aulos pieces found in the excavations made in the plan squares L15 / B, L16 A, L15 C and J15 C for the rectangular altar of Apollon Klarios, headed by Nuran Şahin. The aulos pieces found in Klaros are both the earliest examples of aulos ever identified, and also reveal that Apollo is dedicated to aulos.
