- Abstract
The article presents a case study of a 51-year-old African-American woman referred for an evaluation of type 2 diabetes. Her medical history also includes obesity, degenerative arthritis, hypertension, and sleep apnea and her Initial clinical examination reveals a blood pressure of 130/82 mmHg and a body mass index of 46.7 kg/m&sup2. It discusses the shortcomings of intensive insulin therapy and the role of continuous glucose monitoring in the management of pramlintide therapy.
