- Abstract
The article presents an evidence-based review of cordyceps, genus of parasitic ascomycete fungi, by the Natural Standard Research Collaboration. It informs that cordyceps is an ingredient in soups and other foods with histories of use in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and is found in the mountainous meadow regions of China, Nepal, and Tibet. It informs that cordyceps reduce symptoms related to aging, treatment of asthma patients and lowering plasma cholesterol and triglycerides.
