- Title
GOETHE'S FAUST: A CAUTIONARY TALE?1.
- Authors
LAMPORT, F. J.
- Abstract
A literary criticism of the poem "Faust" by Johann Wolfgang von Goethe is presented. It states that Hans-Rudolf Vaget virtually equates the optimistic with the Marxist view of the poem. It relates that the perfectibilist view of Faust does have some equal protests to counter in the shape of the formidable burden of moral guilt which Faust incurs at least in two of the major episodes of his earthly career.
