- Abstract
Objective: To identify in the scientific literature what points about obstetric violence and nursing care to prevent this occurrence. Method: This is an integrative review, guided by the question "What are the practices of obstetric violence and its implications on women's well- being, and what nursing care in the face of obstetric violence?" Data were collected in April 2019, in the Virtual Health Library (VHL) and at Capes Portal, from two crossings, using the descriptors in health sciences (DeCs): Violence; Childbirth; Humanized birth; Nursing care. Results: It was found the occurrence of humiliation at the time of delivery and the performance of unnecessary procedures. Nursing care stands out in reducing these invasive procedures through non-pharmacological methods, decent reception, active listening and physical and emotional support. Conclusion: Effective public policies and the provision of training for nursing professionals are needed for humanized care.
