- Abstract
The article highlights the need to consider Fragile X-associated tremor ataxia syndrome (FXTAS), a neurodegenerative disorder caused by expansion in the fragile X mental retardation 1 gene, in patients presenting to memory clinics with concurrent neurological symptoms. Topics include that case report adds to the limited knowledge of the nature of cognitive deficits in FXTAS with implications for further research to enhance the understanding, recognition and treatment of the syndrome.
