- Abstract
En el español de Granada (España) conviven tres sufijos diminutivos: -ico/a, -ito/a, -illo/a. En el corpus PRESEEA de Granada se ha hallado la siguiente distribución: 13 % corresponde a -ico, 42 % a -ito y 45 % a -illo. Tras su estudio, en primer lugar, comprobamos que el empleo de diminutivos es un rasgo idiosincrásico, dada la alta desviación típica que presenta su uso (σ = 18). En segundo lugar, constatamos que existe una distribución social donde -ico tiende a ser abandonado, mientras que compiten -ito e -illo. Parece ser el primer paso para la convergencia con el estándar del centro de la península. Por otra parte, se puede observar que la penetración de -ito obedece a un fenómeno de difusión léxica, con menor productividad morfológica que -illo. Por último, observamos que estos cambios están llevando a restricciones fónicas, puesto que el fonema final de la base a la que se aplica el diminutivo está comenzando a determinar el sufijo.
