- Abstract
An essay is presented on American copyright laws, efforts to collectively manage copyrights in the U.S., and potential legislative solution to mass digitization projects in America as of 2011. Copyright licensing schemes and reforms are addressed, along with orphan works and the U.S. Copyright Office. The impacts of digital technologies on libraries and copyright infringement are examined, along with information on the creation of the Book Rights Registry as part of the Google Book Settlement.
