- Abstract
The phenomenon of human trafficking is a global phenomenon, suffered by all countries of the world. If there are many forms of human trafficking, the trafficking of children and their exploitation by parents or others in the practice of begging is the most prominent of these forms. Therefore, the current study was based on the main objective of knowing to what extent the phenomenon of exploitation of children in begging is one of the crimes of human trafficking. The study was based on the descriptive method and the method of case study of a sample of 22 cases / children who are beggars in Fayoum, Sharqia, Giza, and Kafr El-Sheikh, using the observation and the case study manual as data collection tools. The study concluded that increasing poverty, unemployment, increasing slums, and the inability of the state to satisfy the needs of its population made many groups vulnerable to exploitation and trafficking. Smoking drug abuse, absence of breadwinners and fixed income and the practice of all or one of the family members for begging, divorce of the mother, family disintegration, violence against children, mental or physical disability, educational dropout, and negative social capital are the most important factors that led to the phenomenon of begging children. The policy of coping failed because of the habit of children to evade the security men, and the study revealed that the phenomenon of begging children will increase in the future. The Study recommended the care of poor families, improve their quality of life and support them financially and morally, and expand their social protection programs; so as not to fall into the clutches begging.
