- Abstract
Agricultural production is affected by the climate, soil, and crop management components. Which interacting to originate the more than 50 factors that influencing differently in the crop. With the objective of identifying the variables of the soil that determine to a greater degree coffee production, a study was developed in the Department of Quindío, between 2011 and 2012, in three-year old Castillo® variety coffee plantations, handled in conventional way, and fertilized according to soil analysis. Were taken Soil sample every 10 m crosshair at a depth of 0 to 20 cm, and were analyzed 31 physical and chemical properties. Each sample was made up of four simple samples, taken on the plate of the neighboring trees, to which were recorded cherry coffee production for 21 months. In general, was explained the production between 17,89% and 41,16%, by a few properties, including porosity, texture, depth of horizon A, and content of organic matter, S, B and Mn.
