- Abstract
The article focuses on the rare occurrence of spotted fever rickettsiosis in solid organ transplant recipients, typically acquired months to years after transplantation due to tick bites. In this case in North Carolina, USA, a kidney transplant recipient developed symptoms of Rickettsia parkeri rickettsiosis shortly after surgery, presenting with fever, rash, and joint pain.
