- Abstract
A letter is presented from Alexander Rosewell, Rosheila Dagina, Manoj Murhekar, Berry Ropa, Enoch Posanai, Samir Dutta, Ian Barr, Glen Mola, Anthony Zwi and C. Raina MacIntyre to the editor about a study of the cause and extent of an outbreak of bloody diarrhea and influenza-like illness (ILI) in Menyamya, Papua New Guinea in 2009. The study involved laboratory-investigated cases and verbal autopsies. The importance of early detection and intervention as public health measures is emphasized.
