In Defense of Viruses.
- Authors
STONE, MARCIA
- Abstract
The article discusses viruses. The author argues that despite the abundance and diversity of viruses, most virus research is focused on a small group of pathogens. Topics include the bacteriophage adhering to mucus (BAM) model developed by Jeremy J. Barr at San Diego State University (SDSU) in California, and colleagues, multidrug resistance, and biotechnology company ContraFect's development of bacteriophage-derived enzymes, called lysins, for clinical use.
