- Title
Re"evolutionary" Regenerative Medicine.
- Authors
Blau, Helen M.; Pomerantz, Jason H.
- Abstract
The authors reflect on the re-evolutionary approach to regenerative medicine. They explore the potential of newts and zebrafish to regenerate their damaged limbs and hearts. They address whether cells that re-entered the cell cycle could complete mitosis and proliferate after treatment with inhibitory RNAs that target the tumor suppressor Rb and alternative reading frame protein (ARF). They also discuss the use of cell de-differentiation in inducing tissue regeneration.
