- Title
[Commentary] THE NATURAL HISTORY OF CANNABIS USE BY YOUNG PEOPLE AND THE IMPLICATIONS OF THIS FOR HEALTH.
- Authors
MACLEOD, JOHN
- Abstract
The author reflects on the article "The Natural Course of Cannabis Use, Abuse and Dependence During the First Decades of Life" by A. Perkonigg, R.D. Goodwin, A. Fiedler, S. Behrendt, K. Beesdo and R. Lieb. He suggests that one may question the extent to which persistent cannabis use between the ages of 14 to 24 years is a health problem. He argues that prevention strategies that ignore the fact that some people use cannabis because their lives are boring or unrewarding may have limited success.
