- Abstract
Mann-Whitney and Kruskal-Wallis tests were used as the non-parametric tests to examine the effect of gender, age and also geographical position on the blood vitamin A and E results. For vitamin E the inverse was seen between QLD (p<0.001) and VIC (p=0.314) with some higher levels of vitamin E observed in the older QLD group (Figure 1). The novelty of this work is that it examined the age and gender influences on vitamins A and E concentrations at different geographic latitudes in a country generally considered to be vitamin A and E replete [[1]]. Recommendation 1: Gender stratification of decision limits is not supported for vitamin A and E in adults.
