- Abstract
The article discusses the biomarkers that reflect the etiology of cognitive impairments in the future. The usefulness of biomarkers as blood samples as they are easy to collect and are stable for long term usage is mentioned. It is inferred that myocyte enhancer factor 2c (MEF2c) mRNA expression in leukocytes was significantly lower in Alzheimer's disease (AD) patients and this decrement correlated positively with cognitive impairment.
