- Title
Transnasal Aerosol Delivery via HFNC: A Question of Safety and Efficacy.
- Authors
Saunders, Jessica L.; Davis, Michael D.
- Abstract
The authors comment on a study published within the issue which evaluated the clinical response of subjects with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) exacerbation who require bronchodilator therapy by using a vibrating mesh nebulizer in line with a high-flow nasal cannula (HFNC). Cited are the strengths and limitations of the study, and the problem with the study's failure to study the safety of transnasal delivery of aerosolized medications during HFNC.
