- Abstract
The article reports on the synthesis of aromatic poly(ether ketone)s that contain pendant methyl groups and sulfone linkages. According to the authors, the polymers used in the experiment were amorphous and had high glass-transition temperatures. They report that the materials also exhibited thermal stability at temperatures beyond 450 degrees Celsius in air or nitrogen. All the polymers also produced transparent, strong and flexible films that have tensile strengths of 84.6-90.4 MPa, the authors also revealed.
