- Abstract
The article examines how U.S. poet and critic Ezra Pound came to know the relation between the Chinese philosopher Confucius and apricot blossoms. Topics covered include how Pound assumed the role of Confucius in his poem "Canto 13" and the apparent influence of a painting on Confucius in Ernest Fenollosa's "Epochs of Chinese and Japanese Art" on Pound.
