- Title
What’s a Good Night’s Sleep Worth?
- Authors
Cherniack, Neil S.
- Abstract
The article comments on the study on apnea by H. Oflaz, C. Cuhadaroglu, P. Burat et al. They examined diurnal changes in sleep apnea and adds to the evidence that obstructive sleep apnea is an important risk factor for hypertension. Vascular endothelial dysfunction, heightened sympathetic activity and impaired baroreceptor reflexes are some of the functional changes associated with repeated apneas.
