- Abstract
An essay is presented on the roles of the governor and attorney general in the U.S. constitutional system when the state is named in a lawsuit. It offers a history of conflict between the governor and attorney general on bilingual education, federal health care, and Arizona's immigration law. The author also explores the constitutional disputes on applying the separation of duties among officers in Arizona.
