- Abstract
The article focuses on the intergenerational effects of forced separation on the social and emotional wellbeing of Aboriginal children and young people in Australia. Separation took three general forms: putting children into government run institutions, the adoption of children by white families, and the fostering of children into white families. The author also presented a report that includes references to entire communities being forcibly relocated away from traditional lands of special cultural and spiritual significance.
