- Abstract
The article highlights a report confirming a natural occurrence of fusarium wilt caused by F. solani on commercial field lavender (Lavandula angustifolia) in China. It mentions that in the spring of 2004 and 2005, a wilt disease was observed in irregular patches in several fields resulting in as much as 15∣30% yield loss, in which the diseased plants exhibited symptoms of chlorosis, stunting, wilting, and death and did not reestablish vegetative growth. It notes that pathogen isolations were made from stems and roots on potato dextrose agar (PDA) where in the pathogen identified as Fusarium solani. A reisolation of the pathogen from the vascular tissues of inoculated plants on PDA as previously described showed that the morphological characteristics were identical to the original isolates.
