- Abstract
Ambient air pollution also increases COVID-19 incidence, morbidity and mortality [[7]]. Climate change-induced water and food shortages due to increasing droughts, wildfires and flooding will further destabilize societies. It is estimated that the health care sector contributes to climate change with ~ 2Gt (Giga tons) CO SB 2 sb -equivalent (CO SB 2 sb -e) per year - 5.2% of the world's CO SB 2 sb -e emissions [[2]]. Fossil fuel energy use not only drives climate change, but also causes air pollution.
