- Abstract
An essay is presented on the scholarship of author Robert McAlmon and his generation, focusing on the social, economic and living condition in Berlin, Germany in the 1920s, wherein, prostitution and cross-dressing were apparent in city. It discusses the experiences of McAlmon in Berlin and other individuals of his generation including painter Marsden Hartley, writer Djuna Barnes, and photographer Berenice Abbott. Moreover, it explores McAlmon's book "Being Geniuses Together."
