- Abstract
The article presents a study which investigated the effectiveness and safety of non-transectional open gastric bypass for patients with body mass index (BMI) of 70 and higher. It is stated that the extreme obese patients showed comorbidites like diabetes mellitus, hypertension and sleep apnea. Clinical data regarding the venous thrombo-embolism prophylaxis given to patients are highlighted.
