- Abstract
The article offers information on a study to manage acute mastoiditis (AM) which is defined as inflammation of the mastoid periostium and air cells, commonly observed as a complication of acute otitis media. Topics discussed include otorrhea and protrusion of the pinna as a symptoms of AM, treatment options for AM comprising of routine imaging and cortical mastoidectomy, and treatment of patients with a subperiosteal abscess (SPA).
