- Abstract
The article discusses the result of the study on the complexity of apolipoprotein (apo) A-I in Japanese eel Anguilla japonica, in Japan. The isolation of a truncated apoA-I with a low molecular weight was first made from the plasma high density lipoproteins of an atypical Japanese eel. Although serine protease inhibitors were present in the plasma preparation, this eel had a small amount of intact apoA-I in the plasma. The study shows that the apolipoprotein profiles of the eel plasma were complicated.
