- Abstract
The article comments on the objections made by author J. A. Hopkins to the article "The Scale of Agricultural Production," by J. D. Black, R. H. Allen, and 0. A. Negaard in the May 1939 issue. The objection made by Hopkins relates to the footnote references to the Works Progress Administration study made under his directions. The second objection concludes that the adjustment in the footnote was not adequate. The statement had said "since 1900" rather than "since 1920," it would be accurate. Furthermore, it is true that the author's use, as a basis for the adjustment, of number of adult males does not appear superficially to allow for the decreasing size of farm families.
