- Abstract
This aim of this study is the effects of different additions of National Chiayi protein fermentation product on the growth performance and economic benefits in White Roman goose. To produce National Chiayi Protein fermentation product (NCP), in first stage was to conduct aerobic fermentation for 2 days with Bacillus subtilis var. natto BS2, B. amyloliquefaciens Dal6 or B. subtilis Lo6, and in the second stage was to conduct anaerobic fermentation for 3 days with Saccharomyces cerevisiaes Y10. At the end of the fermentation time, the colony counts of NCP could reach 8.3 log cfu/g and pH value was 6.3. Two hundred 0-day-old White Roman geese with equal number of both sexes were distributed into five groups: basal diet with 2% fish meal (CP 70%) group and 2, 2.5, 3, and 4% NCP group. Experimental period lasted for 12 weeks. The results showed that 2.5% NCP group could improve body weight gain by 2.54%, feed conversion rate by 2.61%, and production efficiency factor by 7.1% during 0-12 weeks, compared with fishmeal group,. In economic benefits, 2.5% NCP group could increase the income by 35%, compared with fishmeal group. In conclusion, adding 2.5% NCP to the White Roman geese diets can completely replace the fish meal in the die and improve growth performance and benefit.
