- Abstract
The article presents the findings of a study related to the use of daily increment counts in otoliths to evaluate the dynamics of larval fish populations. The test was conducted with larvae which were preserved in 95 percent ethanol and transported to the laboratory in oxygenated plastic bags. The otoliths were marked with biochemical markers. The result of the study indicated that otoliths could be used complementarily for age determination of sá balo larvae.
