The article illustrates the use of superhero graphic novels in secondary English Language Arts classrooms. Topics mentioned include the main factors when selecting a text for students, the reason why teaching superhero graphic novels can challenge curricular silences, ways on how to link poetic themes with superhero graphic novels, and the analysis of youth empowerment and activism in relation with canonical texts.
