- Title
The pros and cons of peptide-centric proteomics.
- Authors

- Abstract
The authors give several recommendations on how to best use the advantages of peptide-centric proteomics, also known as shotgun strategies or bottom-up proteomics, and avoid its limitations. Peptide-centric proteomics are used to identify proteins present in biological mixtures. According to the authors, this strategy can be leveraged to quantify individual proteins within a mixture. However, they point out that end users should be aware of its limitations to properly interpret the data it generates.
