- Abstract
Six compounds were isolated and purified from Loropetalum chinense (R. Br.) oliver by using silica gel, ODS, and Sephadex LH-20 column chromatography, and their structures were determined on the basis of physicochemical properties and spectroscopic analysis. They were identified as trans-phytol (1), glycerol 1-(14-methlpentadecanoate) (2), methyl-(7R,8R) -4-hydroxy-8', 9'-dinor-4', 7-epoxy-8,3'-neolignan-7'-ate (3) ,trans-p-coumaric acid ethyl ester (4), laricinolic acid (5), tiliroside (6). All of these compounds except 1 were isolated from this plant for the first time. Moreover, it is the first time to report 2 and 3 from the genus Loropetalum.
