- Abstract
The oil reserves potential in the Mahu well area is huge, but the sensitivity is strong and its water-sensitive injury mechanism is not clear. In order to quantitatively analyze the water-sensitive injury mechanism of the Upper Urho Formation sand conglomerate in the Mahu well area, X-ray diffraction (XRD) whole-rock analysis, scanning electron microscope (SEM) mineral scan, computed tomography (CT) scan, atomic force microscopy (AFM) test analysis and related water-sensitive injury experiments were carried out on the sand conglomerate reservoir, starting from water-sensitive injury evaluation and water-sensitive injury micromechanism. The results show that the water-sensitive damage of the sandy conglomerate reservoir of the Urho Formation is high, and the main reasons for the water-sensitivity are the different particle sizes of different reservoirs, the largelithological differences, the poor sorting, and the development of microfractures into a honeycomb structure with unstable mechanical properties, which makes the reservoir complex and vulnerable to damage. Clay minerals can cause damage to the pore space, which in turn damages the permeability. The larger the surface roughness, the relatively larger the surface area in contact with water, the stronger the water sensitivity, and the more likely to occur hydration swelling and dispersion. The degree of water-sensitive damage is further aggravated by the contact angle of the solid-liquid interface and the analysis of the surface charge distribution, which presents a strong hydrophilicity. This study is of great significance for the efficient extraction of tight oil in the Upper Urho Formation in the Mahu well area.
