- Abstract
The article presents views and insights of the author concerning the Helsinki Criteria for the diagnosis and attribution of lung cancer to asbestos exposure. The Helsinki Criteria were purported to be the work of a consensus conference, whose purpose was to develop guidelines for diagnosing individual cases of asbestos-related diseases. The authors suggest that epidemiology can probably not fully settle the issue and that the answer may be critically dependent on fiber type.
